ABB will launch its ABB Cylon Smart Building Management Systems (BMS) for the Middle East region at the Light Middle East and Intelligent Building Middle East 2023 event, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from January 17 to 19, 2023.
The ABB Cylon Smart Building Management Systems portfolio of products covers scalable automation and energy control for a wide variety of commercial or industrial buildings, regardless of size. The BMS enables buildings to automate functions and reduce energy costs with energy control and management. It also allows real-time monitoring and control of the building facility.
Thamer Al Omari, Product Marketing Director for Smart Building, commenting on the launch of ABB Cylon, said, “We are proud to present the ABB Cylon BMS, our holistic and integrated intelligent building solution at the event this year. It is our latest offering in the smart building management vertical and it provides customers with a comprehensive solution for smarter and more efficient buildings. ABB also has a wide range of products and solutions, from Building Management Systems to conventional wiring devices that we will showcase at Light ME and Intelligent Business ME 2023.
“ABB is a long-time supporter of Light + Building events because it offers an excellent platform to meet and network with our partners and customers. This year is a perfect opportunity to display our latest building technologies to the Middle East because this region is known for its constantly changing skyline with the addition of many new architectural wonders every year. It is also a wonderful opportunity for us to discuss the role of building infrastructure in achieving our mission of carbon neutrality by 2030,” he added.
ABB acquired Cylon Controls in 2020 and its range of products which includes HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) controls and building energy management systems. ABB has since integrated Cylon Controls' smart building portfolio into its offerings, allowing them to provide real-time data, operational analytics, and integrated applications for efficient and sustainable management of buildings.
ABB Cylon provides a comprehensive approach to smart building management by seamlessly connecting and integrating multiple BMS solutions to guarantee optimal building management and monitoring. Through intelligent air-conditioning, heating, and emergency lighting, it can ensure greater energy efficiency, increased levels of security, and can maximize occupant comfort and health.
The company is using smart building solutions to address the growing carbon footprint of buildings around the world as they consume more than 30 per cent of the world’s energy while emitting 40 per cent of global carbon emissions. With its ‘Mission to Zero’ programs, ABB aims to use smart energy and asset management to make any building energy-efficient and carbon neutral and achieve net zero emissions by 2030.
Thamer Al Omari said, “We believe that the buildings in which we live, and work will play a critical role in the race towards achieving net-zero carbon emission goals. Digital technologies and energy management solutions that sense, monitor, control, and optimize the built environment while interacting with individuals will become the core of decarbonizing buildings. So, we will see intelligent buildings, where technology helps reduce energy consumption and increase energy efficiency.”
At its stand Z3-G13 at Light ME and Intelligent Building ME 2023, ABB will also showcase other primary products in its smart building vertical. Among the wide range of building and home automation solutions are the new Zenit wiring devices range, the ABB i-bus KNX, the ABB SmartTouch 10”, the ABB-free@home, Emergency Lighting, and others.
Light Middle East is a premier platform for showcasing and sourcing decorative, architectural, outdoor, and indoor lighting solutions. The event has now launched the Intelligent Building Middle East, which will take place as a dual exhibition conference with Light Middle East and will feature the latest in lighting design and smart building technology.
