Abu Dhabi announces thrilling events and activations across the emirate to celebrate New Year 2022 in style
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 27th of December 2021: Abu Dhabi is gearing up for 2022 with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) announcing a series of spectacular New Year concerts, firework displays and promotions to mark the turn of the year.
With New Year’s Eve falling on the weekend, the emirate of Abu Dhabi will have an array of fabulous events for everyone to enjoy over the long holiday. Starting with five concerts around the UAE capital, Al Maryah Island’s South Plaza will host Middle Eastern music favourites with a triple-header performance from Arab superstars Balqees, Elissa and Hussein Al Jasmi.
Etihad Arena on Yas Island will host the hugely popular Pakistani singer-songwriter Atif Aslam, while multi-award-winning global music icon DJ David Guetta will livestream a New Year’s Eve virtual set from Louvre Abu Dhabi, with the iconic museum serving as a backdrop for what is sure to be a spectacular show.
Seven mesmerising firework displays will illuminate Abu Dhabi’s skies on the stroke of midnight with shows at the Abu Dhabi Corniche, Al Maryah Island, Saadiyat Beach Club on Saadiyat Island, Yas Bay Waterfront on Yas Island and at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in the Al Wathba Region. Dazzling firework displays will also thrill audiences at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain and Madinat Zayed in the Al Dhafra Region.
Residents and visitors looking for great deals should keep an eye out for exclusive offers and packages with more than 40 New Year's Eve celebrations taking place at participating hotels, restaurants and shopping malls throughout Abu Dhabi. The Abu Dhabi Winter Shopping Season retail extravaganza is also in full swing with over 3,500 outlets promising fabulous savings well into 2022.

The health and wellbeing of all attendees is a top priority, with all celebrations instilling precautionary procedures and social distancing measures. All attendees must present the Green Pass on their Alhosn app and have a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours before arriving at any event. Temperature checks will be carried out on entry and face masks are mandatory across the city at all times.
