Under the umbrella of the Saudi General Civil Aviation Authority, Dammam Airports Company (DACO) is participating in the Dubai Airshow 2021 along with other national entities from the civil aviation sector. The event is being held alongside Expo 2020 Dubai, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, from November 14 to 18 at the Dubai World Central International Airport.
Through its participation in this important exhibition, DACO advances its projects related to building, developing, and improving services in its three airports. The airports include King Fahd International Airport, Al-Ahsa International Airport, and Hafr Al-Batin Airport in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom.
DACO’s participation highlights the advantages of the Cargo Village, the first of its kind in the Kingdom, which has emerged as a strong economic driver within the logistics sector. The Cargo Village is a model infrastructure that covers express freight services and provides innovative solutions within the freight, warehouses area, and other logistics sites.
In addition, the event provides an opportunity for DACO to engage with various civil aviation stakeholders and discuss the latest developments and challenges faced by the aviation industry in the region. The company also promotes its initiatives aimed at enhancing passenger experience and present investment opportunities across its airports.
Fahad AlHarbi, CEO of Dammam Airports Company emphasized the importance of the Dubai Airshow 2021 as a platform to network and engage with stakeholders from the civil aviation sector and introduce the latest developments, innovations, technologies, and services in the field of aviation. Further, he pointed out that the event is a unique opportunity to learn about the latest innovations and solutions used in building and developing airports.
AlHarbi also underlined the significance of the event in showcasing the wide range of DACO projects and achievements in King Fahd International Airport. He mentioned that the airport has welcomed 4,418,362 passengers from the beginning of this year until October 2021 and has recorded an approximately 52.83 thousand total number of flights in the same period.

DACO’s Cargo Village provides integrated solutions for freight in one location according to the logistical concentration, allowing re-shipment of goods through land and air transport. It also offers competitive advantages, most notably its strategic location which is close to 61 per cent of the GCC countries and five capital cities. This highlights its pivotal role as an advanced logistics hub that provides innovative and creative solutions to connect major locations with multiple access points by land, sea, and air.
Furthermore, the Cargo Village includes the logistics area, which is a key part of the comprehensive solutions to provide a range of storage options within a total area of 500,000 square meters. The area covers 300,000 square meters dedicated to warehouses and storage facilities, and 200,000 square meters for services. The dedicated logistics area is tailored to the needs of pharmaceutical companies, spare parts, and transportation, among others. Dubai Airshow 2021 is being held with the participation of 1,200 exhibitors from 148 countries, displaying 160 aircraft in the exhibition area, and includes 20 corporate pavilions. It also serves as a platform for companies to showcase their products and services related to airports and aviation, and promote their latest expansion plans. The event was organized in line with the goals of attracting more passengers in the Kingdom in the coming years.
The establishment of Dammam Airports Company is part of Saudi Arabia’s vision to enhance airport services and meet the targets of the “Saudi Vision 2030” and the National Transformation Program. The company adopts a strategic plan, starting with the redevelopment of the King Fahd International Airport as well as future expansion plans to other airports at the local and international levels.
