Danat Al Emarat Hospital in Abu Dhabi welcomes 14 newborns during the last day of 2021 & the first hours of 2022

Amna is the first newborn at Danat Al Emarat Hospital on New Year Day 2022

Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children in Abu Dhabi, a Mubadala Health partner, bid farewell to 2021 with the birth of 11 newborns – 4 girls and 7 boys – including twins on the last day of 2021; and have welcomed 3 newborns (2 boys and 1 girl) during the first few hours of New Year’s Day 2022. 

Dr. Mohaymen Abdelghany, CEO of Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children said, “Our celebrations at Danat Al Emarat are doubled as we welcome our newborns today and the new year. Including the babies born at the hospital on New Year’s Day, a total of 26,736 babies have been born at Danat Al Emarat Hospital since our first baby born on 28 October 2015, of which 14,667  were Emiratis. Amongst the total number of births, we had 13,932 boys and 12,804 girls. We are very proud of our team of over 200 obstetricians, pediatricians, neonatologists, midwives, and nurses who provide unparalleled care to many of Abu Dhabi’s newborns. We expect to welcome another 9 babies by end of today.” 

“As we continue to combat the pandemic, and under the guidance and directions of the authorities in UAE and the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, we would like to ensure all patients especially pregnant mothers that the utmost precautionary measures are applied at the hospital ensuring that best antenatal and childbirth care is provided, and the care is uninterrupted,” Dr. Abdelghany added. “From here, we would like to congratulate the UAE’s leadership, government and people on the New Year 2022.”

The first baby at Danat Al Emarat Hospital was born at 1:15am am on 01 January 2022, and weighed 3.3 KG. Her father, Mr. Fares Abdullah Al Shehhi,  Emirati, said, “We are so happy to welcome our baby girl on this special occasion, today as we celebrate the new year and her arrival into the world. She is our 3rd child . Her two brother were waiting for her. We named her Amna. Both my wife and baby are in good health thanks to Allah. From here, I would like to wish everyone at Danat Al Emarat Hospital a happy new year and thank their medical staff for the care and support they have provided for my wife and baby.” 

The second baby at Danat Al Emarat was born at 6:01 am on the first day of the new year for an Emirati family. 

The hospital distributed flowers and chocolates to all patients and children who are spending the New Year’s Day at the hospital.
