DIFC unveils ‘Gate Avenue’ as a vibrant urban destination promoting culture and community

Gate Avenue helps DIFC transition into one of Dubai’s leading urban retail destinations.

  • Over 140 concepts have joined Gate Avenue, complementing over 90 retail, dining, fitness, art and entertainment offerings across DIFC.
  • Recent agreement with Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment to promote Dubai’s key festivals including popular Dubai Shopping Festival.
  • Partnership with Step In Retail Group marks its entry into Dubai for the first time through Gate Avenue, DIFC with the signing of additional international fashion concepts including Yargici, Ramsey, Calliope, Colcci, Flo and Defacto.

In line with its plans to drive the new economy, DIFC, one of the world’s leading financial centres, today unveiled Gate Avenue as one of Dubai’s leading urban destinations for retail, fashion, lifestyle and dining, which will focus on promoting culture and community.

Located in the heart of Dubai, DIFC’s flagship destination featuring new retail concepts and a number of homegrown concepts will attract tourists and residents as well as members from its own community.

With over 140 concepts at the urban retail destination, Gate Avenue is strengthening DIFC’s existing 90+ retail, dining and entertainment offerings.

 

The rise in popularity of Gate Avenue has led to investment in transforming the destination, which will also see the introduction of a range of cultural experiences that reflect global trends. Activations such as the Justice League and Open-Air Market will take centre stage at the 286,000 sq ft urban destination during the coming cooler months.

Recently, DIFC entered into an agreement with Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment to promote Dubai’s key festivals including the popular Dubai Shopping Festival. Gate Avenue will offer convenience, culture, and unique places to shop and dine through these festivals, which will help raise Dubai’s profile as a global destination.

Furthermore, a number of international brands, some of which are exclusive to Dubai, are opening at Gate Avenue as a result of its strategic partnership with Step In Retail Group, featuring apparel, fragrances, accessories, cosmetics, footwear and more. This will help further boost Gate Avenue’s presence in the retail sector.

 

Yargici, a major Turkish clothing and accessories retailer; Carpisa, the Italian manufacturer and retailer of luggage, handbags, wallets and accessories; and renowned menswear brand Rasmey are amongst the first to open their stores in line with this partnership.

In 2022, new brands opening at the urban retail destination will include Defacto, the leading ready-to-wear apparel and fashion departmental store; Colcci a unisex Brazilian brand worn by international celebrities worldwide; Calliope, the famous Italian concept store; Sergent Major, the French Kids Fashion brand and Flo – Shoes. Mia Cosmetics and Bella Maison will also be added to the destination’s beauty and home décor offerings.
