Digital Dubai signs an MoU with the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai at GITEX Global 2022

As part of its participation in GITEX Global 2022, Digital Dubai signed a memorandum of understanding with the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai.

The agreement was signed by His Excellency Lieutenant General Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director-General of Dubai Civil Defense and His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai.

The MoU aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two entities, drive the digitization of government services, and enable widespread digital transformation, all the while maintaining cybersecurity. This, in turn, contributes towards Dubai’s vision to become a leading global digital capital.

 

Lt. General Expert/ Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director-General of Dubai Civil Defense, affirmed the commitment of Directorate to the leadership’s directions to make Dubai the happiest city on earth and to maintain the public satisfaction which is always the priority in all the entity’s projects and services.

 

H.E. Al Mansouri praised the agreement, saying: “the General Directorate of Civil Defense is one of the active partners in developing digital performance and applying emerging technologies, and we at Digital Dubai are pleased to work with them in this field of digital transformation that embodies the future of the smart city. The partnership was One of the reasons we have been successful in reaching our objectives so far is due in part to our sense of unity as a team. We are continuing this path so that we can collaborate in accordance with the vision of the wise leadership and the accomplishment of Dubai's strategy to digitize life, enhancing cybersecurity in all its aspects, by adopting innovation and best practices, and by providing a secure environment for all systems and tools supporting this transformation. Today, our collaboration with the General Directorate of Civil Defense helps to support these initiatives and accelerates the digitization of daily life in the emirate”.

 

The agreement aims to establish a strong partnership between the two parties in order to help them both achieve their strategic goals, in addition to creating channels for collaboration, coordination, and communication. The two entities will also collaborate on technology projects and electronic connectivity to advance the systems in use and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences in both parties' fields of expertise. Furthermore, Digital Dubai and the General Directorate of Civil Defense agreed to adopt transparency as a fundamental tenet for managing their partnership, pledging to collaborate on other matters of mutual interest.
