Dubai Chamber presents 21 companies with CSR Label in H1-2021

 

 

  • 490 labels have been awarded to companies since the launch of the Dubai Chamber CSR Label in 2010

Dubai, UAE: Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has presented 21 companies with the Dubai Chamber CSR Label for their outstanding CSR efforts in the first half of 2021.

The Chamber recently hosted a virtual ceremony showcasing the companies’ achievements in corporate social responsibility (CSR), which was attended by representatives from the recognised organisations. In total, the Chamber has awarded 490 labels to companies since the programme was launched in 2010.

Among the honourees, Alpen Capital  received the Label for the 10th time, while Canon Middle East, Majid Al Futtaim, BESIX Construct,  and Union Coop earned it for the ninth time. Canon Middle East was awared in the Advanced category for the second time and Environment category for the first  time, while Majid Al Futtaim was honoured in the Advanced category for the fourth time.

Horeca Trade received the Label for the eighth time; TIME Hotels for the seventh time; and DULSCO for the sixth time. Corporate Business Services earned the label for the fifth  time and Marketplace category for the first time.

Clyde & Co was recognised for the fourth time; Al Ghurair Group Align on Demand Labors Supply Services and Aster DM Healthcare for the third time. ENGIE Middle East, Asia & Africa was awarded in the Advanced category for second time, while NETS International Communications won it for second time and the Workplace category for the first time. 

Transguard Group received the Label for the second time and the  Advanced category label for the first time. Al Naboodah Group Enterprises and Emirates NBD were recognised for the first time. BDP Global Project Logistic LLC was honoured in the Marketplace category for the first time. Cyrus Group of Companies was awarded in the Environment category for the first time. In addition, 

SmartLife earned the Community category label for the first time. 

In his welcome remarks, Hisham Al Shirawi, Board Member of Dubai Chamber, congratulated all the awarded companies and praised their strong commitment to CSR and sustainability. He revealed that Dubai Chamber has recently launched the new smart, fully digital, individual CSR Labels providing a much simplified process for companies to assess their CSR practices and receive recognition in the areas of Workplace, Marketplace, Community, and the Environment

He noted that the Dubai Chamber CSR Label was established as a framework and development tool to help companies evaluate their CSR strategies, gain recognition for their efforts and improve their reputation.  CSR, as a business strategy, has grown in awareness and significance in the Covid-19 era, he explained.

“Dubai Chamber has consistently invested in adding value to the business community through its CSR Label program. In this regards, Dubai Chamber’s Centre for Responsible Business has recently launched the new smart, fully digital, individual CSR Labels providing a much simplified process for companies to assess their CSR practices and receive recognition in the areas of Workplace, Marketplace, Community, and the Environment,” he added. 

Founded in 2004, the Dubai Chamber’s Centre for Responsible Business (CRB) is the first institution of its kind in the UAE that plays a leading role in promoting corporate social responsibility. The Centre encourages member companies of the Chamber to adopt responsible business practices, which ultimately enhance their performance and competitiveness.
