EHS Earns Four International ISO Certifications

Continuing its track record of achievements, excellence and distinction, Emirates Health Services (EHS) has earned four International Standardization Organization (ISO) certificates, reaffirming its status as a leader in health services and its commitment to enhancing the health services provided by its hospitals and healthcare centres.

EHS received the ISO certification for Innovation Management, Knowledge Management, Management System for Educational Institutions, and finally Guidance for Managing Competencies and People Development, adding to its track record of achievements.

Competing against regional and global entities, EHS was able to meet all requirements and standards for ISO 2019: 56002 Innovation Management. This standard provides a common framework to drive innovation, evaluate EHS’ current innovation performance, and ensure business continuity. It also recognises the outputs of the National Innovation Strategy and confirms EHS’ commitment to global innovation standards as a sustainable approach.

His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al Zarooni, Acting Executive Director of the Financial Sector and Support Services at Emirates Health Services, said that this deserved achievement confirms EHS’ commitment to international standards of innovation management, reflecting its commitment to investing in advanced technologies and implementing international best practices in order to promote innovation and continuously upskill human resources. This serves to strengthen healthcare services and consolidate the UAE’s position as a leading global destination for sustainable innovation, advancing its ranking in global competitiveness indicators.

“These achievements are a result of EHS’ integrated strategy, which is in line with the UAE’s National Wellbeing Strategy 2031, National Strategy for Advanced Innovation 2071, and the UAE Centennial 2071,” H.E. added. “They are in keeping with the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership to strengthen the health services system and establish a healthy environment that enhances quality of life for all customers.”

Dr. Kulthum Al Balushi, Chief Innovation Officer and Director of the Training and Development Centre, asserted that earning the certificates adds to the Centre’s track record of achievements, reaffirming its leading position and commitment to constantly updating its strategies and formulating future visions for its health services. This, in turn, boosts the Centre’s competitiveness on both regional and global levels, increasing its chances to win international awards and certificates, which constitute an international recognition of the quality of healthcare services in the UAE.”

Continuous Achievements

The EHS succeeded in receiving the ISO 30401:2018 for Knowledge Management for meeting the required terms and conditions. This standard provides guidelines that benefit the EHS in knowledge management efforts, acting as a unified reference and guide to systematic practices of knowledge management to enhance decision-making. It supports the growth and development of knowledge capital, contributes to the exchange of specialised experiences, and establishes databases of knowledge experts in the EHS, both internally and externally.

The EHS also earned the ISO 21001:2018 for Management of Educational Institutions that provides educational products and services to help meet the needs of learners more effectively, achieving better academic results, and allowing facilities to meet requirements and expectations of learners and stakeholders in education.

Furthermore, EHS received ISO 10015: 2019 on Guidelines for Competency Management and Personnel Development, which provides guidance to assist vocational training institutions in implementing a training service quality management system, through a set of requirements and clauses.
