EHS to Organise Series of Events and Activities to Mark Innovation Month

Emirates Health Services (EHS) has announced its agenda of events and activities for Innovation Month 2022, including virtual and in-person events, seminars, discussions with experts and entrepreneurs, and showcases of notable innovations and projects in the health sector.

EHS is taking part in the month-long event under the theme ‘We Innovate for Health Leadership’ in an effort to promote a culture of innovation among technical, medical, and nursing staff across its affiliated institutions. The objective is to embrace advanced technologies, such as Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to provide innovative health services and lead a comprehensive transformation in the quality of health services – a pillar of sustainable, healthy future growth.

 

His Excellency Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal, Director-General of EHS, said: “Innovation has become the dominant language at Emirates Health Services, in line with our strategy and objectives, and in compliance with the vision and directives of the UAE’s wise leadership, which call for establishing a sustainable, pioneering health services system.”

“To that end, we are committed to positioning Innovation Month at the heart of our plans to sustain the momentum of innovation with top-quality programmes,” H.E. Al Serkal added. “Furthermore, we constantly develop and improve our mechanisms to track global developments and transformations, and forecast the future to anticipate challenges, crises, and potential opportunities.”

For her part, Dr. Kulthum Mohamed Al Balushi, Executive Director of Innovation at Emirates Health Services, explained that the innovative projects EHS is working on are in line with its strategic goals, which, in turn, resonate with the vision and ambitions of the UAE’s wise leadership. “Our upcoming projects are in line with our mandate to spearhead transformation across the health services ecosystem, embracing innovation to enhance quality and streamline operations,” Dr. Al Balushi said. We rely on a deep understanding of current realities, data-based projections for the future and its challenges, and a proactive approach to make sure EHS and all of its affiliated health facilities and institutions are always prepared.”

The agenda of activities EHS has set for Innovation Month was designed to promote innovation and create an opportunity to showcase the progress and accomplishments EHS has made in terms research and innovation, which serve to advance the UAE and boost its global competitiveness. The innovative activities planned include webinars, training programmes, scientific conferences, panel discussions with experts and entrepreneurs in the health sector, and presentations showcasing EHS’ most notable hi-tech innovations. Most of these activities will be held at Expo 2020 in cooperation with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation.

Innovation Month will also see the Training and Development Centre – part of EHS – organise the 5th Annual Conference for Innovation in Resuscitation Sciences, from February 15 to 17, 2022. The Youth Council will also be held, and is set to includes a series of discussions to highlight the importance of investing in the youth as a pillar of future innovation.

Furthermore, and as part of its commitment to offering continuous support innovation-driven partnerships and motivate innovators in the health sector, Emirates Health Services will hold a ceremony to honour its innovative partners and employees as part of its Innovation Month agenda.
