Emirates Health Services Achieves Second Place in the UAE Digital Government Online Services Index

In a remarkable achievement that enhances its distinguished record of success, Emirates Health Services (EHS) secured second place among 32 federal entities in the UAE Digital Government Online Services Index for 2023. This index comprises two key indicators which are the Digital Participation and Open Data Index, and the Digital Services Quality Index. Developed by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), this comprehensive and modern framework evaluates the digital services offered by federal government entities across the UAE.

H.E. Mubaraka Ibrahim, Executive Director of Artificial Intelligence and Acting Chief Information Officer at Emirates Health Services, emphasized that this achievement is a clear testament to EHS’ commitment to the highest standards of excellence. She emphasized Emirates Health Services' determination to pursue further accomplishments that enhance government operations and provide exceptional digital services, thereby contributing to the UAE's Digital Government Strategy 2025. She stated, "This milestone brings us closer to eliminating bureaucratic hurdles. We are now eager to continue our efforts in innovation and improvement, fulfilling our vision and advancing the government sector in the UAE to unprecedented heights."

The evaluation encompassed various services, including government-to-government (G2G) services as well as those provided to individuals and the business sector. The primary objective of this assessment is to promote the delivery of integrated digital government services and enhance the customer experience based on reliable insights and data. EHS distinguished itself by achieving exceptional results in key service categories, such as medical fitness examinations for residency visas and new employees, issuing health cards for individuals with disabilities, and both the issuance and renewal of health cards. It also excelled in processing requests for medical reports and medical complaints. Furthermore, EHS performed admirably in additional service categories, including medical fitness examinations for university admissions, mobile healthcare, pre-marital counseling, and reference data services, such as inquiries about health card details.

This prestigious ranking reflects Emirates Health Services’ commitment to delivering an exceptional digital experience for its customers, as well as its ongoing dedication to improving performance and adopting best global practices. Looking ahead to 2024, EHS has set ambitious goals aimed at enhancing the quality of digital services, increasing digital participation, and promoting open data. These initiatives will further strengthen its position as a key contributor to the objectives of the "Zero Bureaucracy" initiative.

It is important to note that the " UAE Digital Government Online Service Index" comprises 56 criteria specifically designed to assess the quality of digital services, as well as 24 criteria for evaluating initiatives and efforts related to digital participation and open data at the entity level. This framework aligns with the United Nations Online Service Index and aims to enhance individuals' quality of life by designing innovative government services and delivering effective, proactive, seamless, and integrated digital solutions. Ultimately, these initiatives are intended to improve the customer experience, build trust, and increase satisfaction.
