Emirates Health Services (EHS) organized an event to celebrate World Radiology Day, which takes place on the 8th November each year, to raise awareness of radiology, a field that is regarded as a key science in and of itself, the critical educational standards required to practice in the field, as well as the significant role that medical imaging professionals play in healthcare services.
The event highlighted the importance of radiology specialists including radiologists, medical imaging technologist and medical physicists and their pivotal role in detecting and confronting diseases and their essential role within the system of services provided by all hospitals and primary healthcare centers under the EHS.
The event was attended by Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al-Serkal Director-General of EHS, and Dr. Amina Al Jasmi, Director of Radiology Department at the EHS.
Dr. Amina Al Jasmi congratulated professionals working in the field of radiology, emphasizing their pivotal and pioneering role in providing the highest standards of medical services in line with best international practice, across various medical sectors. She highlighted that radiology is one of the pillars of modern healthcare services and together with artificial intelligence, eg X-rays, MRI images, and CT scans as well as enable better and more favorable decisions in diagnosis and treatment.
EHS is committed to keeping pace with technological advancements and equipment in modern radiology to accelerate its efforts in providing pioneering healthcare services that exceeds expectations.
In addition, the officials honored the distinguished employees in radiology, and the event included a presentation about foreseeing the future in radiology.
