Emirates Health Services Launches Executive Leadership Diploma in Collaboration with University of Sharjah

 In a strategic step toward nurturing national talent and enhancing leadership skills, Emirates Health Services (EHS) has launched the "Professional Diploma in Executive Leadership" for a group of its employees in partnership with the University of Sharjah. This initiative aligns with the UAE leadership's vision of preparing a skilled workforce capable of meeting future challenges and advancing national progress.

 

The launch event was attended by Dr. Abdulaziz Al Zarooni, Acting Executive Director of the Financial Sector and Support Services at EHS; Dr. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah; Dr. Qutaiba Hamid, Vice Chancellor for Medical Colleges Affairs and Dean of the College of Medicine; Dr. Asmaa Nasiri, Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development at the university; and Dr. Kalthoom AlBlooshi, Chief Innovation Officer and Director of the Training and Development Centre at EHS. The diploma program is coordinated by EHS's Training and Development Center, in collaboration with the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development at the University of Sharjah.

 

Dr. Abdulaziz Al Zarooni highlighted that launching this diploma reflects EHS's commitment to building a skilled national workforce with a strategic vision and advanced digital skills, enabling them to drive institutional transformation and advance UAE's ambitions. He emphasized that institutional performance relies on strong leadership capable of making innovative strategic decisions, ensuring effective responses to rapid changes, and establishing sustainable development foundations.

 

During the event, Dr. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi welcomed the fruitful collaboration with EHS, underscoring the university's strategic vision to serve the community by enhancing human resources and preparing them to meet evolving job market needs across government and private sectors. The university has developed a training program grounded in the highest academic and scientific standards, delivered by elite faculty and experts, using globally accredited teaching and training methods. He also welcomed further research collaborations with EHS to strengthen healthcare leadership in achieving national healthcare goals.

 

Dr. Kalthoom AlBlooshi emphasized the productive partnership between EHS and the University of Sharjah in offering a comprehensive program covering all aspects of modern leadership. This program equips participants with essential skills and tools to thrive in a contemporary work environment. She described the program as an integrated training model, blending academic knowledge with practical training to empower participants to be influential in their fields and prepared to face future challenges with resilience and efficiency.

 

Dr. Asmaa Nasiri noted that the ambitious program aims to prepare national leaders capable of addressing challenges within the healthcare sector. Combining the latest scientific methods with best practices in executive leadership, the training program covers topics such as leadership styles, the impact of leader personality on employee performance, strategic foresight in the age of advanced technology and digital transformation, performance metrics, crisis management, and high-performance team building.

 

140 Hours of Practical and Theoretical Training
The six-month diploma program, comprising 140 hours of hands-on and theoretical training, aims to develop strategic leadership and analytical thinking skills among 40 participants. Through lectures, workshops, case studies, and projects, the program also promotes continuous engagement through interactive sessions, discussions, and regular assessments, providing participants with diverse learning resources and academic guidance.

 

Eight Key Focus Areas
The diploma program focuses on eight core areas designed to develop leaders adept at adapting to change and making informed decisions. Key topics include future foresight and smart leadership strategies, advancing executive leadership in the era of advanced technology and digital transformation, building high-performance teams, managing performance systems and metrics, data-driven decision-making, fostering innovation, crisis and risk management, and enhancing institutional readiness to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world.

 

Assessments to Measure Progress
Participants will undergo a series of assessments to gauge their progress and ability to apply acquired knowledge, ensuring the diploma’s objectives are met. Those who complete all requirements will receive the “Professional Diploma in Executive Leadership” from the University of Sharjah, certifying their leadership skills.

 

Targeting EHS leaders—including managers, department heads, and supervisors—the program aims to cultivate the next generation of leaders dedicated to sustainable national development. It seeks to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to lead teams effectively, support EHS's strategic goals, and contribute to the UAE's vision of a progressive, world-class government work environment.
