Employees can volunteer a week of their time, fully funded by the Group
- Reflects the Group’s commitment to Expo 2020 Dubai, volunteering and creating unique employee experiences
Dubai, UAE, 28 September 2021: Emirates NBD Group, a leading banking group in the MENAT (Middle East, North Africa and Turkey) region and Official Premier Partner of Expo 2020 Dubai is providing employees with one fully paid week of leave to volunteer at this once-in-a-lifetime event.
The Group’s large network of volunteers includes a combination of UAE Nationals as well as expatriates from many different nationalities, epitomizing both the country and Group’s diversity, and proud history of volunteering. Emirates NBD already has a strong track-record in volunteering through its award-winning Exchanger program.
The announcement follows Emirates NBD last week unveiling its pioneering vision for the future of global banking with a ~3000 square foot space in Al Wasl Avenue.
“The theme of Expo 2020 Dubai is ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.’ From the day we became an Official Premier Partner, we wanted to connect our employees’ minds to Expo 2020 Dubai. This was underpinned by our commitment to this incredible event, as well as our internal focus on volunteering, and providing amazing experiences in and beyond the office for our employees. Now, our employees will make history alongside thousands of other volunteers. I am so pleased we are supporting them to do so with a fully paid week of volunteering leave,” said Eman Abdulrazzaq, Group Chief Human Resource Officer, Emirates NBD Group.
“The Expo 2020 Dubai volunteering program is the largest-ever in the UAE and reflects the country’s diversity with 135 nationalities participating. Our large network of volunteers includes people from many different countries and across the Group, we are represented by 85 different nationalities in total. Emirates NBD already has a strong history of volunteering as well through our award-winning Exchanger program.”
In addition to the week of Expo 2020 Dubai leave, all Emirates NBD employees receive one paid day of volunteering leave each year as part of the Exchanger program. It was launched in 2015 and to-date, has seen the Group contribute over 145,000 volunteering hours. It currently has nearly 4300 active members including employees, as well as their family and friends, and the Group’s partners.
