Dubai: In line with the United Arab Emirates’ 50th anniversary and hosting the world’s largest event, Expo 2020 Dubai, the Emirates Surgical Pathology Conference 2021 (ESPC) is a
multi-disciplinary programme focusing on histopathology, cytopathology, and their various subspecialties. ESPC 2021 takes place between December 16-18, 2021, at Sofitel Obelisk Hotel, Dubai,
UAE.
Dr. Mouza AlSharhan, President of Emirates Medical Association (EMA), and President of EmiratesPathology Society, pointed out the collaboration with USA #1 health system Mayo Clinic Laboratory
to organise this international event and showcase the latest developments in pathology. Opening ESPC 2021 on 16 December were two workshops, including one on the pervasive topic of molecular
pathology, and the other on gastrointestinal pathology and cutting-edge digital technology in the field.
Additional specialised sessions covering topics such as cytopathology, gynecologic pathology, neuropathology, hematopathology, genitourinary pathology, and gastrointestinal pathology will
complete the program, reinforcing the role of pathology as a strong, integral partner for the different clinical specialties.
Emphasising the significant role of this scientific event, Dr. Aaron Han, Vice-President of EMA’s Emirates Pathology Society and member of ESPC’s Organising and Scientific Committees, pointed out
that an extensive array of recent information, research outcomes, and game-changing technologies will be offered to an audience of local and international specialists and consultants. Providing various
knowledge-exchange platforms, the conference will introduce its audience to the best practices and guidelines, including several sessions with updates on World Health Organization standards, enabling
practitioners to keep up with the latest developments in the field with the experts, many of whom are defining the literature.
Describing the conference’s vital importance, Dr. Hassan Hotait, General Secretary of Emirates Pathology Society, and member of ESPC’s Organising and Scientific Committees, discussed ESPC’s role
to facilitate dialogue and interaction, connecting speakers and attendees to advanced pathology technologies. Along with the conference programme, diagnostics-related research and scientific
papers were submitted and reviewed by the ESPC committee, and the best abstracts will be awarded.
Connecting the experiences of local and regional pathologists with speakers from world-leading diagnostic surgical pathology institutions at a live event, ESPC is leading the way to enrich and improve
practices for all diagnosticians in the healthcare sector.
The CME accredited conference is graced with the presence of 30+ international and regional experts, who are acting host to six detailed sessions delivered to an audience of 300+ pathologists, scientists,
and representatives of the diagnostics industry. The conference is supported by Emirates Medical Association, Ministry of Health & Prevention, Dubai Health Authority, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al
