Fun facts about the latest STARZPLAY Original -  Discovery’s ‘Say Yes to the Dress Arabia’

STARZPLAY and Discovery recently revealed the first look of the much-awaited Arabian version of Say Yes to the Dress Arabia, one of TLC’s most popular shows, which is coming to the Middle East for the first time ever. Now they’re revealing interesting facts about the show ahead of its release in Q1 2022.

Here are eight interesting facts about Say Yes to the Dress Arabia you probably did not know:

  1. 25th local spin-off of the series

Say Yes to the Dress, one of TLC's most watched shows, has 24 versions of Say Yes to the Dress worldwide. Say Yes to the Dress first premiered in 2007 on TLC. The original show takes place at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City. The show was wildly successful and soon began to spawn spin-off shows, beginning with Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta. Say Yes to the Dress Arabia is the 25th local spin-off of the series.

 

  1. A STARZPLAY Original production

Say Yes to the Dress Arabia is a STARZPLAY Original, bringing the show to the Middle East for the very first time.

 

  1. 20 brides and 12 different nationalities

The Arabian edition of the show features a diverse roster of 20 brides from 12 different nationalities ranging in age from 23 to 50, all in search for their dream wedding dress in Dubai.

 

  1. The host has dressed many famous faces from across the Middle East

The host of the show, Lebanese stylist Khalil Zein, is highly experienced in the styling world as he's dressed many celebrities from across the region, such as Haifa Wehbe, Rahma Riad, Nancy Ajram, Maya Diab, and Nadine Nassib Njeim.

 

  1. 125 hours of filming

The show was filmed across the span of 12 days, with 2 brides filmed per day. Hours of filming ranged anywhere from 10 to 14 hours per day.

 

  1. Bridal dress budgets ranged between $615-$14,000

The brides chose their wedding dresses across a wide range of budgets. One bride said yes to a $14,000 dress, while another bride came in with a budget of only $615.

 

  1. The bridal boutique where the show was shot is the biggest bridal producer in the Gulf

The show is shot at Hazar Haute Couture, a bridal boutique in Dubai named after its creator, Mrs. Hazar. Hazar established her first atelier in 1980 and is now the biggest bridal producer in the Gulf region. The bridal boutique houses a collection of hundreds of bridal dresses and each design is unique because it is produced only once.

 

  1. Over 450 dresses to choose from

Hazar Haute Couture had over 450 dresses for the brides to choose from, with the flexibility to source out and the capacity to create dresses in-house from scratch, based on the brides' preferences and specifications. Each bride tried on 2-4 different dresses.
