GE Vernova will participate in the 31st United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31), taking place in Antalya, Türkiye, from 9–20 November 2026, as an official Climate Supporter. At COP31, the company will highlight the role of electrification, innovation and energy security in supporting the energy transition, while showcasing its longstanding contributions to Türkiye’s energy sector.
With capabilities spanning power generation, renewables, grid modernization and digital solutions, GE Vernova supports customers’ efforts to deliver more reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity. The company is also taking concrete steps to develop the next generation of energy talent through collaborations with universities, workforce training programs and other organizations.
“Accelerating electrification is critical to meeting the world’s growing energy needs while supporting climate goals and strengthening energy security,” said Roger Martella, GE Vernova’s Chief Corporate Officer and Chief Sustainability Officer. “COP31’s focus on increasing global electricity consumption to 35% by 2035 sends a strong signal that the future of energy is moving from ambition to implementation. As a global company with deep local experience in Türkiye and the wider region, we look forward to engaging with stakeholders on practical pathways to advance electrification and support sustainable growth.”
“As COP31 convenes in Antalya, we see an important opportunity to highlight practical solutions that can help meet rising electricity demand, strengthen grid resilience and advance a more reliable, affordable and sustainable energy future. Around the world, countries are working to balance energy security, economic development and decarbonization, and that will require technologies and systems that can be deployed at scale. At GE Vernova, we are proud to support this progress through innovation and higher-efficiency, lower-carbon solutions in Türkiye and across global energy markets,” said Joseph Anis, President & CEO, Gas Power Europe, Middle East and Africa at GE Vernova and Board Member of the GE Vernova Foundation.
At COP31, GE Vernova will also feature “The Energy Sphere: A 4D Journey from Source to Switch”, an immersive 4D virtual reality experience designed to help visitors explore how energy is generated, transformed and delivered to everyday life. Combining virtual reality with synchronized motion and sensory effects, the experience takes participants through key parts of the energy system – from generation and transmission to end use – illustrating the technologies and infrastructure that help power homes, hospitals, schools and communities.
Over the past 75 years, GE Vernova has supported Türkiye’s energy sector. Today, GE Vernova technology across gas power, hydropower, solar and wind supports approximately 34 gigawatts (GW) of power generation capacity in the country. GE Vernova has also helped facilitate more than $1.8 billion in financing for energy projects in Türkiye, supporting the country’s energy objectives. Its Gebze power transformers facility, operating since 1966, supports electricity transmission infrastructure and grid modernization in Türkiye and around the world, with approximately 95% of production exported. More recently, GE Vernova’s strategic collaboration with Inogen Group in Osmaniye has supported the local production of FLEXINVERTER* technology for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects.
Building on its global experience and longstanding presence in Türkiye, GE Vernova’s participation at COP31 will underscore the importance of turning electrification goals into practical action through technology, investment, local collaboration and execution.
