HealthPlus and Jubail Island hosts the first-ever run at Jubail Mangrove Park in support of World Diabetes Day

HealthPlus Diabetes & Endocrinology Center, a Mubadala Health partner, hosted the ‘HealthPlus Diabetes Day Run’ at Jubail Mangrove Park. This was the first-ever run held at Jubail Island in support of World Diabetes Day.

The run, organized by Gulf Multi Sports, took place on Saturday, November 12, bringing together people from all walks of life, with the aim of raising awareness and educating the community about diabetes, one of the fastest growing chronic diseases in the world. This    family-friendly event was open to all and was designed to inspire a broader understanding of the challenges and triumphs faced by people with diabetes.

Commenting on the ‘HealthPlus Diabetes Day Run’, Mohamed Khomsi, Executive Director, HealthPlus Network of Specialty Centers and Moorfields Eye Hospital Abu Dhabi said: “HealthPlus Diabetes and Endocrinology Center was proud to host the ‘HealthPlus Diabetes Day Run’ at Jubail Mangrove Park to mark World Diabetes Day. This year’s global theme, ‘Education to protect tomorrow’, was particularly poignant as it reinforced our commitment as a leading Center of Excellence in diabetes care to educate and safeguard the health and well-being of our community. Considering the prevalence of diabetes in the region, we strongly believe that events like this play an important role in raising awareness about diabetes 

 

Participants had a choice of entering the family-friendly 2.5 km Mangrove Boardwalk Run at 05:30 PM, entering the 5 km competitive trial run at 04:30 PM, or jogging the 5 km course with friends and family at 05:00 PM.
