The Philippines received US$33.19 billion remittances in 2020 – to become the world’s fourth largest remittance recipient country. More than 550,000 Filipinos in the UAE sent around US$1.28 billion remittances to the Philippines last year
Index Exchange, one of the leading money exchange and payment service providers for more than 45 years of operations in the UAE, has launched a consumer connect campaign, the Filipino Fiesta, that will increase the festive celebrations and boost happiness.
The campaign, titled Filipino Fiesta, will help members of the Philippine community in the UAE to remit money to their nearest and dearest ones in their home country and help them win loads of prizes lined up by Index Exchange as part of their community engagement programmes.
Filipinos, who work majorly in the service sectors of the UAE – are one of the first to greet the visitors to the UAE – at the airport, duty-free, hotels and hotel reception areas. They are active in the hospitality, tourism, restaurant and retail sectors where ‘service with a smile’ makes a lot of difference. The members of the Filipino community – in many ways – lit up the lives of visitors, tourists and consumers when they go shopping or eating out or checking into a hotel.
“The Filipino community is one of the largest expatriate groups living and working in the UAE that remits a large amount of their hard-earned money to their family members back home,” Syed Abdus Salam, Chief Operating Officer of Index Exchange, says. “Our relationship with the Filipino community goes back to decades. With this promotion, we hope to see an increase in remittances to the Philippines.
“The Filipino community members usually send a large amount to their nearest and dearest ones living in the Philippines ahead of the Christmas and New Year’s holiday season. We intend to enhance our services to have more connectivity with the community and strengthen our operational base to serve the community better. With the Filipino Fiesta, Index Exchange celebrates the 50th National Day of the UAE that stretches till the end of the year”.
Members of the Philippine community who send money to the Philippines from dedicated Index Exchange branches across the UAE from November 25 till December 31 this year will get a chance to win exciting prizes every day including iPhones, Stay at Atlantis, Stay at Burj Khalifa Armani, Air Ticket to the Philippines, Dinner in the Sky Vouchers, Sky Dive & Ain Dubai Tickets, 30 days Expo and Motion Gate passes.
All transactions to the Philippines sent from 12:00 am, 25th November will automatically qualify for two lucky draws. The closing date for entry will be 11:59 pm UAE time on 31 December 2021. After this date, no further entries to the draw will be permitted. The promotion is applicable only for UAE residents with a valid Emirates identity card.
The winners will be declared after the two draws – one on December 16, 2021, at Index Exchange’s Satwa Branch in Dubai and the last one on January 5, 2021, at Hamdan Branch in Abu Dhabi.
