Being welcomed by a giant snowman, baguette in hand, your experience begins before you even set foot inside. Pass a pair of nutcrackers to enter the outdoor terrace where you can even bring your dogs down to indulge in some festive cheer.
For those already in the mood, the scene is set with carols on repeat and hot chocolate at the ready. Until Thursday 30th December those four-legged friends who dress up in their festive best will also get a complimentary treat. The shelves of the Boulangerie are also stocked with LiliAnne hampers, ready for you to peruse and purchase for those who have been both naughty and nice on your present list. After all, you can never go wrong with gifting gourmet. From Saturday 19th of December, the team take it up a notch with a special Christmas menu curated by Executive Chef Anne Laure Morisset Dutel.
As Christmas carol singers join La Serre on the terrace to serenade guests, you can indulge in some French classics. To start, choose from a rich Butternut Velouté or Roasted Scallop Leeks that are served with a Carrot Burre Blanc Emulsion Caviar. For mains, it will be hard to decide between the Boeuf Wellington or Roasted Sea Bass that arrives with puree chestnut and white truffle. Make sure to save space for a slice of classic Yule Log to finish things off alongside your post-meal refreshment. Note, vegetarian and vegan options can also be created on request.
Don’t miss the Christmas village set up underneath the iconic La Serre staircase. A tower of LiliAnne wicker hampers frames a big leather chair ready to welcome Santa Claus or those looking for the perfect picture spot. At the Bistro, the festivities continue. Book ahead for the Christmas Day Brunch which is held on Friday 10th, 17th and 25th December, where we’ve heard rumours these will be the days Santa will be making his surprise appearance.
The menu begins with an array of tantalizing starters to be shared. They include a Seared Scallop Carpaccio, Foie Gras Terrine, an Endive & Poached Pear Salad and a Chicken Rillette served with Rye Bread Soldiers. For mains, try the Seared Turkey Breast Medallions that arrive with mouth-watering sides. You can also opt for the Crispy Skin Rock Seabass or the Winter Vegetable Cannelloni that is topped with shavings of truffle. A Christmas Dessert Platter ends the meal with a whole host of sweet treats. The brunch menu starts at AED450 for house beverages and AED599 for sparkling on the 10th & 17th with Christmas Day bookings AED600 for house beverages and AED799 for sparkling.
For those looking for a very French Christmas Eve, the special menu will have all the highlights from brunch. Served a la carte, it also features a Seared Tuna Carpaccio served with a zesty mandarin vierge and pine nuts alongside a Burrata, that arrives with figs and cherry tomatoes.
