Dubai: With the weather turning cooler, the UAE is turning greener and this is the season when agriculture thrives. In time for the much-awaited 50th UAE National Day, the LuLu Group will celebrate the green initiative of the UAE’s agribusiness sector with its promotion “Al Emarat Awwal” – the Emirates First – which will put UAE-grown agricultural and farm produce on the spotlight.
Inaugurated today at the LuLu Dubai Silicon Oasis in the presence of Silal CEO H.E. Eng. Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri and Ministry of Climate Change and Environment Assistant Undersecretary of Food Diversity Sector Engr. Saif Mohamed Alshara, who were joined by LuLu Director Salim M.A., the “Al Emarat Awwal” promotion seeks to create awareness about the wide range of locally grown products, from fresh fruits and vegetables (capsicum, cucumber, mushroom, cauliflower, tomatoes), meat (chicken, beef, lamb, camel), dates (fresh, sweetened, and all varieties), and dairy products, such as milk, juice, yoghurt, eggs.
LuLu Group will promote and sell local fresh produce through its branches across the UAE, offering special shelf space to UAE-based produce. Earlier, LuLu Group Chairman and Managing Director Yusuff Ali M.A. committed to support the UAE leadership’s SILAL project which showcases the UAE farm movement and assures local farmers of a sustainable income while guaranteeing UAE consumers freshness from farm to shelf.
Speaking on the occasion, LuLu Group Director Salim M.A. said: “Our latest promotion ‘Al Emarat Awwal’ comes just ahead of UAE’s 50th National Day and it is a sign of the progress and modern sustainable development model adapted by the UAE leadership. Through LuLu’s growing retail footprint, this initiative creates new marketing platforms for UAE-grown farm produce. This achieves a key objective to support the country’s self-sufficiency and agricultural sector.”
