Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Reveals Exciting Lineup of Events and Activities in August

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library is organising a series of free cultural and entertainment activities within its summer activities program in August. The series includes a range of training workshops and various events for different segments of society.

The first of these activities is an interactive workshop to teach children how to turn their ideas into stories, in addition to the third workshop on the basics of calligraphy, which will teach participants the art of Arabic calligraphy and its various forms, in collaboration with Sharjah Calligraphy Museum and calligrapher Ali Al Hammadi.

The library will also host a workshop on learning the art of script writing in Arabic, with the help of the writer Dr. Mamdouh Hamada, novelist and author of several drama works. Over the course of two days, participants will be given an opportunity to discover their talents and develop their writing skills, for four hours per day.
As part of the library’s summer activities program, which extends from mid-June to the end of August, in coordination with The Arabic Language Centre in Dubai, the library will also organise educational workshops to teach Arabic to non-native speakers. These workshops seek to improve the skills of participants in reading and writing in Arabic.

Additionally, the library will also organise a workshop on learning the basics of montage using mobile phones, to create innovative content for social media platforms using Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this workshop, participants will learn photography and video editing techniques, and enhance their skills to create attractive content on social media.

In August, the library will also organise an interactive workshop and competitive activities to teach children the policy of saving and protecting themselves from fraud, whether in the virtual or real world, to enhance their financial culture, cultivate the importance of money and saving, and instill values of investment.
As part of the sustainability workshops program in ‘A Summer of Culture’, the library will host a unique workshop to educate children about the importance of sustainability and introduce them to the challenges of climate change. These workshops will include children's stories and interactive activities using the Ghaf tree and drawing, coloring, and shaping tools.

As part of its Science Simplified Workshops, the library will also host an interactive workshop to educate children about carbon emissions and upcycling, and the importance of protecting our natural resources.

As part of the Children and Youth Activities Program, and to celebrate Back to School season, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library will organise a series of workshops and lectures, for mothers. These include a workshop on Culinary Art, ‘How to prepare school snacks for your kids’, and a lecture called ‘How do I prepare for school?’ on psychological readiness for returning to school, with the help of experts and trainers specialized in providing psychological support to families. The library will also organise a workshop entitled ‘I am not a bully’ for children in the first and second grade, to teach them how to confront bullying, and spread the culture of kindness. The bullying workshop will be organised in cooperation with Fatima Al-Amiri, author of the book ‘Words with Black Threads’.

As part of the activities of ‘Coffee and a Book’, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library will hold a session to discuss the book ‘The School of Life’, which addresses the lessons that a person learns from life experience rather than from school, between psychological, philosophical, and practical lessons.
To celebrate Emirati Women’s Day, the library will organise a series of activities, including an opera musical performance with Emirati artist Fatima Al Hashemi, and a three-day workshop entitled ‘Writing for Women’ with Eman Al Yousif.
