NORTHLADDER PARTNERS WITH AL JALILA FOUNDATION TO ENCOURAGE THE DONATION OF PRE-OWNED ELECTRONICS FOR A GOOD CAUSE

NorthLadder – the UAE-based, second-hand online marketplace for pre-owned electronics, has today announced its partnership with Al Jalila Foundation, part of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.

The initiative encourages customers and corporates to donate their preloved electronics or luxury assets through the NorthLadder platform. NorthLadder will sell the goods on their auction-based platform and the proceeds will then be donated to Al Jalila Foundation to support the pediatric patient programme – Farah.

‘Farah’, which means happiness, provides life-saving treatment to give hope to thousands of children and their families. The aim of the program is to allow children today suffering from heart disease, cancer and other chronic illnesses to benefit from great discoveries in medicine.

Sandeep Shetty, Cofounder and CEO of NorthLadder said: “We are delighted to partner with Al Jalila Foundation and hope that this initiative will help improve the lives of children and families in the UAE. Proceeds from the campaign go to Farah, a programme which focuses on harnessing innovation to improve lives of patients. This message resonated with us at NorthLadder, making Farah the perfect program for us to partner with.”

Dr Abdulkareem Sultan Al Olama, CEO at Al Jalila Foundation commented: “Patients are at the heart of everything we do at Al Jalila Foundation and with the generosity and support of our partners we are dedicated to transforming their lives. We are delighted to collaborate with NorthLadder on this campaign, which not only helps to improve young patients’ lives but also supports sustainability by helping reduce our contribution to e-waste.”

On an average, people in the UAE replace their smartphones every 24-36 months, leaving most residents with old devices that remain unused or get thrown away. With NorthLadder’s home or office pick-up service, it’s easy and convenient for individuals or corporations to donate their electronics or luxury items to be sold on the platform. Anyone with a working device that powers on, or a luxury bag or watch is welcome to make a donation. The campaign is now live, offering pick-up services to interested donors who can make a booking at https://northladder.com/en/ae
