The leading online marketplace reveals a fresh look and exciting new features
This month, OLX Lebanon rebranded its platforms on desktop, mobile and app, to dubizzle Lebanon. A new app called “dubizzle Lebanon” is now available, while the web domain has changed to dubizzle.com.lb and all traffic generated towards olx.com.lb is now re-directed to the new website. The main objective behind this rebranding is to unify the brand name and align the communication and branding in order to offer users a more seamless experience.
dubizzle was founded in 2005 in the UAE where it quickly became a household name that attracts more than 4.7 million visits per month. Through its successful business model and the support of the booming technology sector in the UAE, dubizzle will expand its presence to eight other countries within the MENA region, most notably, Lebanon, Egypt. As an acknowledgement of the popularity of the dubizzle brand across its markets, the holding company, EMPG (Emerging Markets Property Group) recently announced its rebranding into dubizzle Group.
OLX and dubizzle have been sister companies since 2015. This merger marks the birth of a new powerhouse entity with the ability to leverage the combined strength of both corporations to deliver unprecedented value to millions of users who will now be able to enjoy the enhanced features: a more attractive platform, neater user flow, and free listing on 12 out of 13 categories – with the exception of property that offers personalized services to sellers and buyers alike.
Maria Nehme, Country Manager, dubizzle Lebanon, said: “The rebranding will not affect our product. Our service, our team, and our passion driven operations will remain the same, we’ve only changed the name and enhanced the user experience as we continue to move forward with our growth plan”.
For users, everything remains the same. Existing account details and ads remain intact, even the same log-in method gives users easy access to their ads and listings. While the user experience has been upgraded with new attractive features, there is no impact to the sellers and the items they have posted for sale.
Aline Feghali, Marketing Manager dubizzle Lebanon added: “As with any rebranding exercise, the key success factor is to quickly and effectively communicate the new dubizzle Lebanon name to the market. To do so, we are supporting our rebranding operation with a massive 360 advertising campaign covering digital and social media, unipoles, radio, television and press”.
dubizzle Lebanon will continue to be the number 1 classified app in Lebanon with 1 million users per month and more than 800 businesses listed on the platform. It will continue to be the fastest and easiest way to buy and sell stuff. And it will have more free services. Users will only need to update the app then ‘click and post’ using a mobile phone or any other device to benefit from the services dubizzle Lebanon has to offer.
