Emirati multinational conglomerate, LuLu Group International partners up with U.S. multinational, Transmed and Procter & Gamble partner together to bag the Guinness World Record of the largest flag made from P&G consumer products to celebrate the 50th UAE National Day.
The 2nd of December will mark the 50th National Day of the country. His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has declared 2021 to be ‘The Year of the 50th’ to commemorate 50 years since the nation’s founding in 1971. The celebrations of this huge milestone will highlight the success and prosperity of the nation in overcoming its challenges with ease, by staying united with its connections to nature, technology and most importantly, its people.
LuLu Group has had a prominent and longstanding presence in the UAE, of more than twenty-six years, during which they have contributed immensely to the development of the community. This attempt at a Guinness World Record is their way of commemorating the history of the country and adding to the celebrations during the National Day week (the first week of December).
“We have seen the country grow from the past to today, with its remarkable journey. This couldn’t have been done without the leadership it has, always committed to investing in its people and putting them first. Our progress in the Middle East region could not have been possible without the support of our visionary leaders,” says Omar Karout Senior Category Manager, Fabric Care, Transmed.
The Guinness World Record attempt is to make the largest flag made of P&G’s consumer products. The activity will add another feather to the cap of UAE’s long list of Guinness World Records standing at more than four hundred.
Procter and Gamble, since its establishment in the Arab Peninsula in 1956, is one of the largest Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies in the Gulf region. P&G products have made a name for themselves with their iconic brands like Ariel, Pantene, and Oral-B.
Senior Brand Manager of Fabric Care, a P&G brand, Fawwaz Alkuds said, “The country has had a transformative change in this past half-century. Their commitment and perseverance have led the United Arab Emirates to be a country that stands out on the global map today. This attempt at forming the largest flag is a great way to celebrate the Golden Jubilee milestone of the nation.”
