The UAE is the number one place for expats to thrive professionally, according to InterNations Expat City Ranking 2022’s Expat Essentials Index. The survey stated that expats love working in the UAE with about four in five expats (79 percent) advised that moving to the UAE has improved their career prospects, ranking the country first worldwide for this factor.
In addition, the UAE has been ranked this year’s top destination for talent in the Arab region and 21st globally, according to the latest IMD World Talent Ranking. The country moved two places up in the annual study that rates 63 economies based on their ability to attract and retain skilled workers. The UAE was also 11th globally in the ‘Quality of life’ in the same report.
The country attracts talent from all over the world including C-suite executives, entrepreneurs, business owners and more, through varied forms of lucrative visa schemes, quick facilities, easy processes to set up business or find a job. The government’s introduction to visa programmes has enhanced prospects for overseas employees to live and work in the country. That includes a facelift of the 10-year golden visa to streamline eligibility conditions and multiply the types of recipients.
The green visa was also introduced to offer five-year residency to skilled workers without requiring a sponsor or employer. Moreover, the UAE recently executed a new unemployment insurance programme for federal government and private sector employees, to which all workers must subscribe from January 1, 2023.
The UAE’s success is underpinned by its commitment to providing expatriates with unique life experiences, and high living standards that not just surpass those of their home countries, but rate among the world’s best overall. The country is a home to a melting pot of cultures, people from over 210 nationalities choose to move into the city as their home.
