RAK Hospital distributes 1500 Iftar Meals to Taxi and Talabat Drivers

Keeping with the spirit of Ramadan, RAK Hospital as part of their annual community initiative distributed over 1500 ready Iftar meals to the nation’s unsung heroes. The drive-away Iftar meal distribution was conducted from the hospital’s premises where RAK Taxi and Talabat drivers queued to collect their packets.

Thanking the contribution of these drivers, Dr. Raza Siddiqui, Executive Director of RAK Hospital said, “This annual drive is our small way of appreciating these unsung heroes for their relentless services to society. Despite fasting themselves they effortlessly support society; either by helping people commute from one place to another or by delivering food to their homes and offices.

The entire month of Ramadan is in essence a celebration of the Quran's revelation, which is described as a 'Guide and Mercy for those who do good. Fasting bridges the gap between rich and poor, sustained and impoverished, fulfilled and needy. This experience inspires compassion and mercy, which is manifested by the generosity of wealth and time to help those in need.

Ramadan is all about love, care, compassion and giving and that’s exactly what we at RAK Hospital like to spread and convey through our own small acts of kindness.”

Adding further, Siddiqui says, “Many of these drivers live without their families and it’s not only our duty to be kind towards them but also our responsibility to make their lives easy as they do for us.”
