Raytheon Saudi Arabia internship program advances job creation and knowledge transfer

12 Saudi undergraduate students receive hands-on experience and real-world insights

RIYADH, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, September 6, 2022 – Raytheon Saudi Arabia, a Raytheon Technologies subsidiary headquartered in Riyadh, launched its annual internship program for Saudi students, devoting increasing resources to realizing the potential of local youth in the fields of defense, aerospace and technology.

For six months, the internship program will provide 12 students with practical experience, on-the-job training, and mentorship from company leaders and equip them with skills to support their future ambitions and careers.

Undergraduates from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, King Saud University, King Abdulaziz University, Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University, and others joined the program. Students are training at Raytheon Saudi Arabia’s offices in Riyadh and Jeddah as well as at customer sites across different functions including supply chain management, program management, engineering, human resources, contracts, and information technology.

“Raytheon Saudi Arabia is committed to investing in a new generation of aerospace and defense talent and creating desirable jobs in the Kingdom for Saudi youth,” said Mark Kenna, Managing Director of Raytheon Saudi Arabia. “We are actively engaged with the Saudi manufacturing and supplier eco-system to help strengthen indigenous capabilities, in line with Vision 2030 Human Capability Development goals.”

Raytheon Saudi Arabia plays a pivotal role in supporting the defense localization goals of Vision 2030 and contributing to the provision of high-skilled jobs for Saudi citizens. The company employs almost 300 people in Riyadh and Jeddah, with Saudi nationals accounting for over 60% of the workforce.

“This year, the internship program welcomed a larger number of interns for various functions, supporting the Vision's objectives of advancing knowledge transfer and developing Saudi talent,” said Ali Albar, HR director at Raytheon Saudi Arabia. “The program combines classroom theory, web-based training, and practical experience, providing the students with a solid grounding in technical subjects and real-world insights to motivate them to put their college skills to use.”

In March 2022, Raytheon Saudi Arabia inaugurated its new headquarters in Riyadh, reaffirming the company’s long-standing commitment to the country’s safety and security, and building on Raytheon Technologies’ more than 50 years of partnership with the Kingdom.
