Saqr Hospital Celebrates the Graduation of 37 Emirati Nurses from the New Nurse Graduates “Transition to Practice” Programme

Saqr Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah – an affiliate of Emirates Health Services (EHS) – organised a ceremony to celebrate the graduation of 37 Emirati nurses from the New Nurse Graduate “Transition to Practice” Programme, an evidenced-based programme designed to facilitate smooth and safe transition of graduates from academia toward a successful career in nursing.

Dr. Sumaya AlBlooshi, Director of Nursing Department at EHS, congratulated the graduates and highlighted that the New Nurse Graduate “Transition to Practice” Programme is a golden opportunity to develop the graduates’ nursing competencies in providing high quality nursing care services in line with the best international standards that ensure the safety of patients and the well-being of the community. The programme is designed over several phases focusing on enhancing skills and competencies in the area of direct patient care, effective communication, health management, and other essential nursing clinical skills under the supervision and direction of highly qualified professional development team.

Dr. AlBlooshi added that EHS places great emphasis on strengthening nursing care services as they contribute significantly to enhancing the healthcare sector and achieving its strategic goals and directions. She said the New Nurse Graduate “Transition to Practice” Programme reflects the commitment of EHS in providing support and developing UAE talents. “It serves as a fundamental platform for improving the quality of health services provided to the community, as the programme helps build national nursing competencies across all EHS affiliates. It adds to the EHS contributions in the implementation of the National Strategy for Nursing and Midwifery (2022 – 2026)”

The graduation of the Emirati nurses emphasizes the efforts by EHS to develop the UAE healthcare sector by developing qualified and competent health personnel as part of its commitment to providing the highest standards of health care. Additionally, EHS is focusing on promoting nursing workforce by active engagement in the advisory and scientific committees of the National Institute for Health Specialties that aims to develop an integrated and high-quality evaluation system for the standards of specialised nursing programmes, which is also a first-of-its-kind in the UAE.

 

EHS contributes to advancing the nursing profession by offering attractive nursing scholarships Programmes that has an award of up to AED 25,000 per semester for its enrolled nursing students achieving a cumulative GPA of 3 or more in addition to ensuring their employment after graduation.
