Creation of Research and Development Chair on Smart Logistics Research Leadership
SAUDIA, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, signed a memorandum of understanding with Jeddah University in order to foster research and innovation in the Kingdom.
The MoU covers multiple data and artificial intelligence science initiatives that solidify the Kingdom’s leadership and drive to accomplish its strategic targets. It also aims to create a joint framework to govern and facilitate the use of data shared between both parties, conduct academic researches and studies, and establish a research chair on smart logistics research leadership at University of Jeddah.
Both SAUDIA and University of Jeddah are aiming to collaborate on conferences, seminars, and workshops specialized in IT, data and AI, and to explore ways to attract computer and engineering talents for training ending with employment at SAUDIA.
The agreement was signed by Abdulgader Attiah, Chief Data Officer at SAUDIA Group, and Dr. Abdulrahman Alshdadi, Dean of College of Computer Science and Engineering at University of Jeddah.
The MoU underlines SAUDIA’s commitment to contributing to the objectives of vision 2030 in all fields, mainly world leadership in data-driven, AI-powered economies, in addition to the adoption of the latest practices and solutions in the world of AI to provide the best service to SAUDIA’s guests and employees.
