Second season of “Tree of joy” – an annual Oberoi, Dubai event in collaboration with Artezaar (https://www.artezaar.com/ ) took place on 07th December, 2021 at Terrace Garden. The Tree of Joy event was inaugurated on 7th December by Mr. Andreas Wegner – Deputy Consul, Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, at the Yoga deck – which has a backdrop of the iconic Burj Khalifa.
This was our second year of the Tree of Joy celebrations, and we could not be happier. We brought 30 students of German International School, aged 4 – 7 years, to paint their favorite festive characters with teachers from Artezaar.com, and decorate Christmas cookies with Oberoi Chefs. Our star Pastry Chefs, who are known for their culinary master skills, were delighted to share their secret ingredients and above all, their preparations.

Chef Rajeev Krishnan:
Chef Rajeev philosophy: Elegant, clean palate, and enticing are the pillars of his work. He has won a gold medal and was adjudged as “The Creator of the Best Dessert” in the 5th IFOWS Culinary Cup, held from 16th to 18th January 2008 (India International Food and Wine Show).
Chef Amita Patole:
Amita graduated from Le Cordon Bleu, Paris- 2016. Amita loves to explore the creative combination through her mentor Chef Jean Francois Deguignet’s guidance. Her experience with Eric Kayser, Paris gave her that confidence and belief. She aspires to be the best Lady Pastry Chef in the Mena region.
Chef Nabendu Manna: Nabendu loves to create artisan bread, viennoiserie, handcrafted chocolates, and a hand-on approach for French and Italian desserts. His passion for pastry has been acquired through various pastry courses with French chefs. Christmas is the best time of the year that reflects his true artistic approach towards his craft.
